Google New Click to Call Adwords Program

When i was browsing the net today i found one strange thing in google search. Usually when ever we search for any key word we will get the results as well as the sponsered links displayed. When you give a closer look at these sponser links (Adwords) you can see that on top of some links there is an image of Telephone.

The advantage of it is that if suppose you want to talk to that particular advertiser you can just give your phone number to google and then google will connect you to the advertiser free of cost. Google will take care of the telephone charges irrespective of whether it is a local or long distance call.

I tired using a key word.

wipro
and found one result: i gave my cell number and got connected.

Earlier i have written an article about how to keep your system safe by using free anti spyware as well as free anti virus softwares. Here i would like to introduce a concept called Virtual Hard disk. Currently there are some tools like microsoft virtual drive and some other like VMware but Sandboxie beats all the competetion from all the other vendors.

First what Sandboxie does is when you install that software into your hard disk and when ever u browse the net using IE or your favorite browser it will save all the details like Temporary internet files,cookies etcc..etc..into the portion of your hard disk. Some thing like virtual hard disk.

When ever you finish your work and restart the system all the contents in the virtual hard disk will get erased. Hence even if a virus attacks or any spyware attacks on your system can be easily tackled with out using any other anti virus or anti spyware or malaware softwares.

The size of sandboxie is very small around 200KB.The company says that it will not support Windows 98 OS but absolutely no problems. It works fine with that too.

The recommended OS are Windows 2000,Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista and 64 bit OS.

Rapidshare Search Engines

I will try to add the websites which you can use for searching books,mp3 and softwares etc..from rapidshare.de
For people who are not familiar to rapidshare.de it is a website in which any one can store files and once you store your file you will get a link for it, any one who wants to use that file can simply use that link and download that file from any where on earth. Lot of time I found that you can get lot of ebooks at rapidshare.de, mihd.net,depositfiles, mega upload,sendspace, cuupload, yousendit, oxyshare, filefactory and zshare etc. But the real problem with all these websites is that there no search option provided on these websites.

If you try to search for ebooks in google it is very unlikely that you might get what you want.

Power Shortage in Hyderabad

Even though hyderabad is the capital of Andhra Pradesh, one point i really hate about it is the power shortage.
Now a days almost for about four hours in a day we are not having power. I see that lot of companies are coming to hyderabad like software,hardware and even fab city but why basic issue like power is not been considered is a big question.
we need to learn at least from other countries in this regard. the political leaders should have at least a minimum idea about when to add new power plants etc..
As far as i know i dont see any increase in power plants in AP from quite some time.
God only save AP.

Outsourcing to india

Now a days most people in other countries are really worried about outsourcing to india. They feel that they might loose their jobs. I dont think outsourcing is really a bad thing.
Let me give some figures of normal US salaries:
For a typical software engineer in US they need to pay around 5000$ per month.
They can hire at least four people in india with same money and can get the work done. Hence in lot of cases productivity will be more. Thats why people are trying to outsource to india.

what are the things that are currently outsourced.

1) BPO (Business process outsourcing)
2) KPO (Knowledge process outsourcing)
3) Software Jobs
4) Hardware Jobs
5) Medical Transcription
6) Law Transcription
7) Animation Outsourcing
8) Games Outsourcing.

Most of the companies which are getting these projects are serviced based companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Satyam etc..
The problem with these companies is that they hire in huge quantities and pay less.
I have worked in one of those service based company some time back. The problem what i could figure out there is that when ever you need to perform a job you will not get full specifications of what to do or why to do that, but you have to do that. After working in service based companies in india i was really frustrated and moved to a product based company. Now life is good.

One point i always want to emphasize is that why people in US are most worried that indians are taking their jobs. Currently the situation in india is something like how it used to be in US at dotcom boom near 1999.

when i compare the working style of people over there in US and in India, i can say that over there people will not stay after office hours, irrespective of how much work they have, when it comes to friday they will just go out from office at 2 or 3 in the afternoon.

Since people have realized that they can get more business out of india and cheap labor they are coming to india,
if at any point of time they find some other country where they need to spend less money they will obviously prefer that country.

what i would try to emphasize here is that people over here are not making much money but doing the same work what they are doing in US.

So Folks be happy and dont worry about their jobs. They will have their jobs intact.

Imagine a day when you dont need to remember any user name and password for any websites you are trying to login. usually we will be trying to register for new forums, E-mails and some other sites which all needs you to create an account with them.

around two years back i have seen a service called bug me not, its actually a website

that was great i thought.

recently i heard about this Open ID concept. The concept is very simple. All you need to do is to create an open ID user name and password. There are lot of websites coming up on internet which are providing open ID access.
Hence you no longer need to remember any user name and password. That sounds great for me.

How to incrase the mileage of your vechicle

From my experience these things might help to increase the fuel efficiency of your car or bike.

1) Try to put petrol or gas into your bike/car when is cold. so it is better to put it in the early morning or late night.

2) when ever your are traveling on the road try to switch off the bike at each signal instead of keeping it on.

3) Try to put more fuel in to the vehicle as far as possible.

4) Give the vehicle for servicing at least once in two months.(i think for every 2500Km)
This does not take into consideration of the first service which most vehicle companies ask for at 500Km.

5) My favorite is Extra Premium from Indian oil. Even though it is a bit costlier than ordinary fuel, it pays off. Try to put it continuously for 4-5 times and then you try to observe the difference in mileage.

Free Anti Virus Solutions Available

Lot of time people might be wondering what are the different free anti virus solutions available in the market.

I will be listing out the anti virus softwares which i use personally.

1)Avast

2)AVG Anti Virus

3)Quick heal

4) Panda Anti Virus

Out of all AVG seems to be the best but only problem is that its huge to download.

Avast interface is good it looks like a music player. So easy to navigate for a newbie.

Even though quick heal is not a free software i will give you a small tweak to it.
you install trial edition of quick heal in your system, then you uninstall it and crate a new folder and install it again thats all. so you never need to buy any anti virus again.

If you dont want to install any anti virus to your system because you are thinking that your system performance is reducing then the best thing to do is to do an online scanning of your system. There are lot of vendors available for online scanning of PC. I personally prefer Panda anti virus software for the same.

How to improve the performance of your system

I will try to list out some of the free anti spyware softwares, and links to download them.

Lot of time you will be wondering how can you get rid of spywares. Here are the solutions i think which might work.

I will talk about only Anti Spyware Softwares which i have used personally so i might be biased in my decisions, any knows any other anti spyware softwares then can give their inputs.

Before i started using these anti spyware softwares my system performance became very slow and i was really pissed of using my system.

After using these anti spyware utilities my system performance has increased considerably.

Top 5 Anti Spyware:

1) Spybot Search and Destroy:

I am using this software from about 5 years now and never had any problem.
The thing is that i dont have any anti virus installed on my system as my system is very old configuration system, PIII- with 128MB RAM.

Only issue i see with Spybot is that it will take quite a while to scan the entire system.

It can also clear Trojan Horse from the system.

2)Adaware is the antispyware software from Lavasoft. This has got its unique ways of clearing spywares from the system.

It is the best for checking the process and cleaning them.

Best part is that you can simultaneously use both Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad aware on the same system with out any problem.

Over all i am happy with it also.

How to select analog switch or analog multiplexer

when i have started designing analog and digital circuits some times i had a requirement of performing multiplexing of analog channels.

Let us take an example:
suppose you have 4 different types of thermo couples placed at some place where there will be always temperature variation what do you perform to capture these signals is( as these signals are of very low AC voltage some thing like noise) you should have a means to filter them and pass them on to analog multiplexer.

Now when ever we try to select an analog multiplexer we need to consider the following things, what type of analog multiplexer it is whether single ended or differential multiplexer.

Second thing what we need to consider is the what is the output capacitance of the multipexer. Let me explain why do we need to find out the output capacitance of the multiplexer. Since we will be selecting each channel in the order we get the select bits from our microprocessor or FPGA by the time the channel changes the voltage of other channel might stand there as parasitic capacitance.

so to avoid that we will select a multiplexer with low output capacitance.
Now coming to the selection other factor we need to consider is the impedance of the mux. it should be as low as possible for better effective operation.

usually we need to use some kinds of buffers after multiplexer so that mux wont be loaded and that buffer will supply necessary source current to the output circuit.

How to keep the freshness of vegetables without keeping them in fridge

Actually this is about some method using which you can store your vegetables and keep them for a very long time.

The method is as follows.

Take a pot and pour some sand in it. try to add some water in the sand. If you can try to arrange a way some thing like drip irrigation methodology to pour drop of water every minute approximately.

Now take another small pot and place it inside the big pot and put vegetables in it and forget it.

Even if you open the pot after a weeks time you can feel that your vegetables are fresh then they used to be if they were kept for same time in fridge. Hope this might help some one without fridge.

Most of the people who want to enter into share market and IPO will be wondering which account to chose from. there are certainly lot of companies present in this market.

I feel that best ones from service point of view are:

1) ICICI Direct
2) HDFC Securities

Other Demat account which i have are with:

Share Khan.

Out of all best one in interface point of view like getting live quotes etc..i good from Share Khan.

Even India Bulls offers the same but the look is not good.

If you take the exampe of Kotak Securities they have lots of restrictions and also have lots of hidden charges involved.

But ICICI charges too much for Delivery. 0.95% after including all charges.

HDFC will be around -0.70% for delivery.

I dont like the Present Andhra Pradesh Government Policies

Some how i am not comfortable with present congress government in Andhra Pradesh.
Most of the MLAs in the Assembly are having some or the other criminal record.
The fun part is that even the Chief minister himself is a big gundaa kind of thing.
His dad is responsible for atleast 3000 deaths in cudappah district.

When i talk about corruption it is at its worst right now. I am not biased or pro any other party. since i am fedup with the policies i am trying to post it.
Take a simple example of Ratio Card. I dont see that there is any point in having other than using it as an election card. why do we need it anyways.

Why dont the government take necessary actions against people who are driving recklessly on roads. I see that majority of people who are driving vechicles in india have got their driver licence without even taking a test.They pay money to some broker and thingss will be done thats all.

If you take government hospitals the issues are worse. Need give bribe even for carrying dead bodies and even to see them.

It is mere luck for this congress government that rains are okay for the last three years..thats why they have able to see less resistance from people than what was expected out of them.

Increasing Interest rates in India

I dont know some how i am feeling uncomfortable for the rise in intrest rates in india. I know that people who have lots of money will be benifited though. But if you take an example of a middle class person it is tough for him to pay for his loans.

I am paying for my Mortgage which i have taken from ICICI Bank, when i have taken the loan in the begining it was around 7.5%. Now th interest became 11% that it is becoming almost tough for me to survive. I dont know why government is not taking any responsibility to impose reduction of intrest rates.

Is it having any relationship with inflation.

I think it is always better to take loand from public sector banks like SBI or SBH etc..not ICICI bank or HDFC bank.

I heard like Life Insurance Corporation of India is giving housing loans for less interest rate.

Why Imposing Particular Religion in India

First of all i am not against any religion. If any person of any religion feels that this is too harsh then sorry from my side.

I would like to say that most of the Christians from different parts of the world feel that christianity is the only thing and they try to market their religion to such an extent that it is unbearable in countries like india.

Let me take an example, I am from a very small and remote village of india and i lived there for most part of my life. what i have observed is that 80% of the villagers who were hindus earlier are now converted to christians. I really don't know why.

why they are getting converted.

From my understanding its because they are getting money from christian missionaries etc.. who don't know what to do with money.

But I never understood what are achieving by converting Hindus and Muslims to Christians. I really dont know.

If they say that Christianity is good i would say it is okay. But they teach these villagers that rest all religions are bad.

I am telling my point of view about this.

Ultimately what i dont like about them is that they are trying to market their religion thats bad. In addition to that they will always blame muslim community.

Because of some bad people from muslim community whole world is thinking that all muslims are terrorists, i really dont know how far it is true.

I am sure there will be lots of critics, i want to write more about this but i will write it in my next blog.

Best Firefox Extensions Ever Created

I have been using Mozilla Firefox since 0.8 Version, now it is in 2.0.0.3

The best part of firefox is that it blocks all the pop up ads as well as you can even add some of the extensions what you like.

I personally like the following extensions.

1)Adblock Plus:

Great one if you want to block all kinds of ads on most of the websites.

2)Bug me not:

I use this to bypass any kind of registration with what so ever website.

3)IE Tab:

The beauty of this extension is that many websites are designed to properly work with Internet Explorer but when you open these websites with Firefox you will not be able to see them properly. Hence you install this extension to see those websites in firefox.

Mostly i use this option to read local language news papers which mostly work with perfect with IE not with any other browsers.

Gmail blocked at work place

I was always thinking about why Gmail was blocked at my work place.
Sure found some ways to access it when it blocked at school or work.

One funny way is to create an account with igoogle it is a google product for your personnel home page, in that you can edit what ever u want to see in your home page.
there you add gmail and at least you can get a glimpse of what new emails you have got. but if you try to click it again you might get a message like Access Denied.

There are some websites on net which talk about Glite its a HTML version of Gmail. But it is not from Goolgle. People should be careful when then try to access their Gmail account from those places.

Problems of having credit cards

Lot of people are suffering because of credit card frauds. In countries like US the APRs are very low so people can afford it. In case of countries like india the intrest rates are too much it is approx:36% per year.

That sucks. i dont know why government is not botherd in speaking with credit card issuing companies to reduce the intrest rates.

I think the noraml people are suffering very badly because of it.

Till we take the credit cards, we will be getting hell lots of phone calls from credit card companies saying that we will offer card for free..etc..etcc..

In US atleast there is a way that you can avoid getting phone calls from these credit card companies by adding your phone number to:

www.donotcall.gov

But in india there is nothing of that sort. I dont know when the government will take care of these things.
God only save us.

My advice is better not to have any credit card. Since there is nothing like Social Security System in india, lot of people will take money from credit cards, more the number of defaulters.

they should start building some means to make that happen.

what are the problems you get because of smoking

I am planning to quit smoking from last 10 years but could not do that. I tried different methods to quit smoking like

1) Reducing the number of cigarettes
2) Tried a bit to smoke low nicotine cigarettes.
3) Tried pathes- for which i had to spend lot of money.
4) Nicotine chewing gums.

I tried all the things but could not succeed.
I am feeling bad because my health is getting deterioated and dont have stamina what i used to have 10 years back.

I am getting some breathing problems because of it.

I need to find out any other ways i can quit smoking.
If any one has any suggestions it will be great help.

what is a basic delay circuit how do we design them.

when i attend my first interview the person who was taking interview to me asked the same question.

can you design a basic delay circuit.?

Here is the answer.

We all know that a basic delay circuit can be constructed with R and C combination. But it will act as a delay circuit.

I think this gives some idea about it.

when we say RC = T(time constant)

it is because R*C = (V/I)*(Q/V)

now R*C = Q/I

we all know that I=Q/t

so R*C = t (time constant).

hence we can design as simple delay circuit.

what is a decoupling capacitor and why do we need that any way

Lot of times people talk about decoupling capacitors in the design and why do we use them.
I will jot down what i understood about them. any issues readers can respond.

We all know that for capacitor Xc = 1/2(pi)fc

For DC signals as frequency component is zero capacitor will provide very high impedance,hence when we connect the capacitor across Vcc/Gnd essentially It will not allow DC voltage to pass through it.

then why do we need decoupling capacitors any ways and how do we select the value of it without just taking standard value of 0.1micro farad or 0.01 micro farad.

This is what my understanding about it.

Take an example of any Integrated circuit:

Any IC will have lot of input/output pins and Vcc and Gnd pin.
Now why dowe connect decoupling capacitor between Vcc and Gnd.

It is because at any point of time the outputs will be switching i mean some will switch for low to high or some will from high to low.

from basics we know that Q=CV
and also Q=I*t

Hence I*t=C*V

hence C= I*t/V

you will calculate the value of C from the above equation.

where V here will be deltaV it means how much ripple voltage you want to allow for the Vcc pin.
for example if you have any IC for 3.3V, Vcc you will usually chose 0.05V or 0.1v

accordingly you will know delta V.

now t can be found from the data sheet with rise time or fall time of switching output.

I think you got the idea of how to decide on the decoupling capacitor value.
any discrepancies or any further answers to this topic are appriciated.

What is a Buffer and why do we need it

When i first entered into hardware field i always used to listen to the word called buffer. what it exactly mean i was thinking.

So if you give a signal at the input of a buffer the output will be same. but why do we need that kind of circuit.( It isnt wastse of money i thought).

When ever we want to transfer a signal from one stage of any circuit to other stage we use buffers but why?

Essentially a buffer should have very high input impedance and low output impedance why?

Example:

Suppose i am getting a signal from a circuit with impedance of say 400 ohm, now if i connect it to a buffer( essentially a buffer will have high input impedance). Hence the voltage at the input of the amplifier becomes V= Vsignal * (Rbuffer/Rbuffer+400)
since Rbuffer is very high( input impedance of buffer) hence the signal which is coming to the input stage of buffer will not vary. now the second thing is the output of buffer is almost the same as the original signal.

Hence a buffer amplifier essentially gives the same output voltage what it gets at its input but it gives a flexibility in such a way that, since the ouptut impedance of the buffer is low it can be used to drive more circuitary and also there wont be any extra loading on the input side of the buffer.

hence we are essentially increasing the fanout of the buffer.

Traffic Problem in Hyderabad

Today when i was coming to office there was an accident and the fun part is that the person who is responsible for the accident is blaming the other guy. This person was travelling wrong direction and was still fighting with the one who is coming the right way. Because the person who is coming in the wrong direction got more injuries the people were supporting him instead of supporting the other fellow. I dont know when the traffic rules will become good in india. Hoping for the best.

How to add Google Adsense to your blog

When i was trying to add adsense to my account then i realized that i am not able to do it in the normal way what i does. The normal procedure to apply for adsense is as follows.
