Have u ever seen the calendar for September 1752???If you are working in UNIX, try this out. At $ prompt, type: cal 9 1752 Surprised????

See the explanation for what you see.Isn't the output queer? A month with whole of eleven days missing. This was the time England shifted from Roman Julian Calendar to the Gregorian calendar, and the king of England ordered those 11 days to be wiped off the face of the month of September of 1752. (What couldn't a King do in those days?!) And yes, the workers worked for 11 days less, but got paid for the entire 30 days. And that's how "Paid Leave" was born.

Whenever you ask any parents about where your kid studies, he proudly replies with a Big corporate school name & starts telling the Greatness of the school, their fee structures, Multi culture ness & different cultural activates etc.
When you ask him, don’t you have any Government school near to you, he will say it is there. then you ask him, why don’t you send your kid there. He will argue with some points,
The first point they speak about is the non availability of faculty & their qualifications. Second one is Buildings & Infrastructure.
When you go to GOVT school & look at things he mentioned, you too agree whatever he said.

Most of the corporate colleges in urban or private colleges in semi urban recruits faculty on contract based or part time from un employed Graduate , in rare cases the Post graduates Students on Consolidated academic year based. The same Faculty member who is teaching for Higher education or Plus two students will join the state GOVT teacher post ones he selects for it. What I mean here is the Same faculty who teaches for higher studies goes to upper primary schools. This shows the qualification of GOVT schoolteachers & their ability.

Infrastructure :
I agree that now a days corporate schools have Very good infrastructure Including class rooms, play grounds & Projectors etc. this does not mean that GOVT schools does not have it, Some of them may not be, but most of them have it. Corporate School charges at least 10 to 15 Thousand non refundable advance for even below 1st class students, where as GOVT School charges None other than exam fee of 100 Rupees or less. For corporate it is like a business we need to buy the class room books from their store itself & school uniform from their suggested shop itself, Transportation charges at least Rs 5000 /- pear year, apart from Tuitions fess at least each students spends min 500 rupees per month.
On an average a student pays 15-17 Thousand per year, how many parents can afford for this much payment.

How to Improve:

How to Improve the attendance in GOVT schools & How to make the quality of education.
I believe we can do with certain Rules from GOVT and pushing from educated people.

1) All teachers and Government officers kids should go to GOVT schools., it makes the faculty to teach in efficient way, as they know their kids are the in the class.
2) Educated people should send their Children to Government School, which alerts faculty to attend regularly as the parents keep a eye on their kids studies.

The above things further it helps to improve the infrastructure as there is a constant monitoring of parents on their Kids education.

Initiatives :
GOVT has to keep certain rules of Studying the GOVT officers Kids in GOVT schools, Educated people has to take the initiations to send their children to GOVT schools parents should ask for Infrastructure Development.
Parents should Monitor the Faculty Attendance.

Why we call Number One as one and Two as two only

The numbers we all use (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.) are known as "arabic" numbers to distinguish them from the "Roman Numerals" (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, etc). Actually the arabs popularized these numbers but they were originally used by the early phonecian traders to count and keep track of their trading accounts.

Have you ever thought why ........ 1 means "one", and 2 means "two"? The roman numerals are easy to understand but what was the logic behind the phonecian numbers?
It's all about angles !

It's the number of angles. If one writes the numbers down (see the pictures above) on a piece of paper in their older forms, one quickly sees why. I have marked the angles with "o"s.
No 1 has one angle.No 2 has two angles.No 3 has three angles.etc.
and "O" has no angles.

Interesting, isn't it?
An ancient phonecian manuscript explains this and I thought it to be fascinating.

1 EMERGENCY
* The Emergency Number worldwide for **Mobile** is 112 ...* If you find
yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an
emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to
establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112
can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. **Try it out.**

2 Have you locked your keys in the car? Does you car have remote keys?
This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone:
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call
someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person
at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on
their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your
keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away,
and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you
can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

3 Hidden Battery power
Imagine your cell battery is very low , you are expecting an important call
and you don't have a charger. Nokia instrument comes with a reserve
battery. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your cell will restart with
this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This
reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

4 How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone:
* # 0 6 #
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your
handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. when your phone get
stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They
will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the
SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.
You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either.
If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

Effect of Corporate entering to Retailer ( Veg-supermarket ) Business

This commodity has the power to Change the Governments, History shows Four years ruling party ( BJP ) was defeated in Delhi because of its rise in price ,this is none other than Vegetable prices especially Onion.

From last there weeks wherever you see, in Televisions, in family parties, Govt Offices & even in breaks at MNCs everybody talks about Rise in Vegetable prices. The house run mother says I cannot run the house with the present vegetable costs as if the Price goes this way. she says even if we buy vegetables of Rs 100 /- , it is not enough for 3-4 days, for the same cost it is suppose to come for 9-10 days earlier.

Every time, whenever there is a rise in prices , govt will have the cabinet meeting & they say we will control the price by Supplying Directly in the markets & even they say we get them from neighbouring state & sell it with loss to government.
Recently there was a talk with Hon. AP CM about the Vegetable costs, he told it was because of Heavy rains in the Country & the crop did not get into hands as it is suppose to come 2 weeks before. & he was mentioned that after the Enter of Corporates like Reliance, @Fresh, Spencer the prices has come down over the market rate.

Now we will see does the entry of Corporates into retail & vegetables really helps the Consumer & Farmer ? Does they maintain the same relation ship with Farmer forever ? What about the quality? what are the effects on small shops ?

For the First question up to some extent I can say, yes. It is useful for the Big families & Job holders who does not have the patient to spend for longer times in the market, here people buys for 1 month retailer goods , Vegetables they take for 1 week without bargaining with sellers, Upper class family feels it goes calmly & they like this concept.

For the Farmers as of now it is helping them, instead of taking the vegetable to the market & sell at the Broker decided price, sometime they cannot expectt that much lower rates , with corporate they can save the transport charges as Corporate comes to farmer place & buy there itself. But we need to see how long the Farmer decided price goes. there is always a fear of Privatization, if Corporate decides the rates it will be dangerous. Former should always be double careful, he should not bow in front of him.

Quality wise, Fresh stock will always fresh, with My experience I have seen the Stock
( Vegetable ) they keep till they sold out. with BIO storage techniques they looks as fresh , but it is not as nutritious as they are. Regular customer will take them as he is used to the shop.

How the small retailer feels about it ? it is already showed in Gujarat ( A group of small shop owners attacked the Reliance Outlets & there was a big riot against them ). they fell it is big threat to them. There are lacs of people surviving on the small shops. Now they cannot. As the sales comedown, small shops are getting shelved. It will make instability in people & they need a alternate profession to survive.

The GOVT always have to have a look on Corporate about how it deals with Farmer , it should not allow a Monarchism ( Who decides everything ) to them. & need to look a alternate for small shop owners.

Benefits : Benefits to farmers, easy BUY, Calm atmosphere.
Looses : May take the control on farmers & Effect on small scale retailers & their survival etc
